Outi-Maria Salokorpi is a specialist in skin diseases and allergology, treating a variety of skin conditions, allergies and sexually transmitted diseases. She specialises in atopic dermatitis and food allergies, and has plenty of experience in these areas. Outi-Maria decided that she wanted to become a doctor after a period in hospital as a child; she chose to specialise in skin diseases owing to the visual nature of the field.
“The good thing about skin diseases is that they can be diagnosed visually. You need an experienced eye to spot the distinctive characteristics of rashes, moles and other skin alterations, and this visual aspect and aesthetic viewpoint were exactly what I enjoyed in my work. I talk a lot to my patients, explore the background and make sure they have all the necessary information when they leave, reassured that their condition can be treated.”
Outi-Maria quickly builds a rapport with her patients and is known as a meticulous doctor whose patients go home happy. Outi-Maria focuses on patient work 100% and aims to become an even better doctor, continuously learning more and picking up experience through training and practical work.
