This will provide a quick diagnosis, confirmed with laboratory tests, and treatment can begin without undue delay. If you know that your partner is infected, he or she should also make an appointment. If you suspect that you have a symptomless infection, you can have this checked with a lab test.
Depending on the disease and symptoms, a typical treatment of an STD consists of antibiotics in the form of a course, as a single dose orally, or a local injection. Visible condylomas may also be frozen or treated with a laser, depending on the situation. The effect of treatment can be ascertained later with new laboratory tests.
