A facelift effectively treats changes caused by aging

A face and neck lift is always performed under general anaesthetic. The skin, subcutaneous tissues and muscles are lifted and any extra skin may be removed. If necessary, fat can be removed by means of liposuction from certain areas, such as a double chin, and transferred to an area where the subcutaneous layer of fat has become thin. The jawline and neck in reshaped and tucked where necessary.
The same area is always opened surgically in face and neck lift in any case, so an individual result can be achieved. The procedure is completed with carefully planned stitches. The scar will be around the ear and in the hairline, where it is well hidden.
Facelifts result in a naturally youthful look
The final result of a facelift takes a while to be seen. Bruising and swelling will usually occur for a few weeks, and compression garments should be worn for about a month. Recovery is not painful, but due to the swelling and bruising patients usually do not return to work until about a month, when the face is beginning to look a bit better.
During the month, feeling will return to the face little by little, and the face will begin to feel more natural. After this, the treated areas often feel slightly soft as the tissues reshape and settle. The final result can be seen in about three to six months, and the scars will fade further after this time.
