Asla Ryynänen has studied medicine at the University of Copenhagen. In addition to the Skin Hospital, Ryynänen works at the HUS Skin and Allergy Hospital. She chose to specialise in dermatology and allergology because she was interested in the visual diagnostic procedures used in the field and fascinated by the almost detective-like work that arriving at a diagnosis sometimes requires.
Clear and efficient in her communication, Asla is known as an empathetic and reliable doctor who always has her patients’ best interest at heart. For Asla, the best part of her job are the patient encounters she has every day. She says she takes particular care to listen to her patients, after which she will tailor a care plan for each, based on their needs and wishes.
“Skin diseases are multi-faceted problems that may have a significant impact on a patient’s quality of life. That’s why I think it’s important to assess patient health from a holistic perspective, and I find that cosmetic treatments also have their time and place.”
Ryynänen works with patients of all ages with all kinds of skin diseases and skin-related problems such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, facial rashes, warts, moles or skin alterations. She also offers treatment for allergies, sexually transmitted diseases and preventing them (PrEP), as well as performs minor procedures.
