Minna Kostiainen is an experienced dermatology specialist who has worked for about 15 years in dermatology outpatient clinics at central hospitals. She has worked as the senior physician at the dermatology outpatient clinic of Päijät-Häme Central Hospital, for example. For the past ten years, Minna has been working exclusively in private clinics. She joined the Skin Hospital in the summer of 2023.
Minna was interested in skin diseases already as a medical student. She was intrigued by the versatility and visual side of the field, that also requires good problem-solving skills and dexterity. The fact that she is meticulous, conscientious, flexible, quick and gets to the bottom of things makes her ideal for the job.
“I try to find the best solution for my patient’s problem. As a doctor, I’m happy when the patient is happy and the problem has been solved. Thanks to my long life experience and over 30 years of practicing medicine, I am able to meet patients with empathy and respect.”
Minna treats all kind of skin diseases, most commonly acne and various rashes and excemas. Her special areas of interest are moles and birthmarks, skin alterations and skin cancers. She likes to perform small surgical procedures, such as mole and minor skin cancer removal surgically and by freezing.
