Noora Neittaanmäki is a skin disease specialist, who deals with everything from acne to skin cancers. The idea of specialising in skin diseases was inspired by her uncle’s example. The fact that Noora enjoys working with skin disease patients is clear to everyone. She is known to patients as a doctor who gets things done quickly and effectively.
“I enjoy treating skin diseases due to the visual aspects and visible treatment results. You do not always need laboratory tests for a diagnosis, and many diseases can be completely cured. The best aspect is being able to treat patients quickly, and ensuring that they are happy with their treatment.”
Having earned a doctorate in 2015, Noora not only engages in patient work, but is also an active researcher whose academic interest lies in skin cancers. Noora is currently working on her second specialisation, in skin pathology. At the Ihosairaala, Noora focuses on acne patients, mole inspections and the removal of skin alterations by freezing, surgery and laser. She also specialises in mole freezing and treating sexually transmitted diseases.
