Timo studied medicine in Helsinki and later worked in several different medical specialties. Surgery attracted him, but in the end dermatology won out due to its broad scope. A dermatologist treats hundreds of different skin diseases, in addition to sexually transmitted infections, allergies and skin cancers. Now Timo is a specialist in dermatology and allergology at the Skin Hospital and at the Skin and Allergy Hospital of Helsinki University Hospital (HUS).
Timo’s specific expertise lies in the diagnosis and treatment of skin lesions. Among the repertoire of treatment methods are surgical procedures, laser therapy, photodynamic therapy and cryotherapy. Timo primarily treats malignant skin changes, but he also provides assistance for functionally or cosmetically bothersome skin lesions.
Timo consistently receives positive patient feedback. He is approachable and communicates with patients in plain language, without medical jargon. For Timo, it is crucial that the patient feels genuinely acknowledged, so during appointments he is always a hundred percent present, solely for the patient. Timo’s unwavering goal is that every patient receives personalised, effective and up-to-date care, and that the patient’s fears about their health are allayed as a result of the appointment.
