Sanna Impivaara is a skin disease and allergology specialist at the Skin Hospital and at the Helsinki University Hospital’s Skin and Allergy Hospital. Sanna became interested in skin diseases already during her studies, and the idea of specialising in skin diseases became even stronger in her previous position as a health centre doctor.
Sanna treats people with all kind of skin problems and diseases, the commonest being acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Sanna has been praised by her patients for her friendly approach.
“It’s important for me that I make it clear to the patient what the treatment options are, and we then decide together on the best treatment. I also consider it important that the patient gets accurate treatment instructions, and we go through them in detail.” The most rewarding part of her work as a dermatologist is to see when a correctly chosen and implemented treatment gives a patient relief for something that may have even limited their life.
