Skin disease specialist Minna Kubin treats a variety of skin diseases. Minna is particularly talented at skin surgery and procedures, and specialises in skin neoplasms and acne. Minna knew that she wanted to become a doctor when still a child, and opted to specialise in skin diseases because they combined visuality and working with her hands.
“In the case of skin diseases, you can often diagnose a patient at a glance; such a complaint is very tangible in this respect. This is why I am particularly interested in procedures: you can see the result immediately and know that you’ve made a difference to the patient. I always try to take account of the patient’s life situation and consider the treatment in terms of the patient’s daily life. I’d like every patient to leave with the feeling that they’ve been listened to, treated and are feeling better.”
Minna is known as an empathic, highly approachable doctor. Her day job involves the treatment of skin cancer patients at Helsinki University Central Hospital and Oulu University Hospital. In addition to her wide experience of procedures, Minna has published several scientific articles on subjects such as acne, psoriasis, immunological pemphigoids and contact allergies.
