Acne

Acne is one of the commonest skin conditions, with around 10% of the population affected. Acne is most common in the 11 to 30 age group in particular, affecting up to 85% of such people. The dermatologist’s toolbox contains a range of remedies for acne, the most suitable of which is chosen in accordance with the patient’s situation. Acne is almost always treatable.

Our experienced dermatologists are familiar with the various forms of acne, such as acne experienced by professional athletes or those who train hard, pre-teen acne, adult-onset acne, acne during pregnancy, and treatment-resistant acne.

Treatment need largely based on the patient’s view

Acne should be treated early and efficiently enough to reduce the likelihood of scarring. Scars can be treated only after the active phase of acne. Acne has a close relationship with self-esteem, a connection which has been extensively studied. The mental scars left by acne can be greater than the physical damage. That is why the need for acne treatment is often determined by the patient’s experience: if the patient is bothered by the acne, it should always be treated.
